Glitchy Red Dead Redemption

Bought the above game last week and after playing it for a while it's now starting to get on my tits due to the constant crashes that occur. I believe there's a patch that resolves a great deal of bugs in this game, but because my console has been banned (thank you Microshaft) I cannot download the available patch. I've looked around for said patch but nothing has turned up. If anyone can point me in the right direction or lift the patch from their machine and upload it here it would be appreciated. It's either that or give up my console so that my daughter can play bloody Toy Story 3.
