Get sound from PC into an HDMI cable?

I was wondering if such a cable exists:
DVI + phono to HDMI with sound

I need to connect a PC to my TV in the HDMI port. If I could I would connect the audio direct to my sound system, but it's crap and I only have one input. With the PC connected it blocks out all the sound from the TV audio out.

I know the real solution is to buy a decent sound system.

HDMI audio is digital and phono is analogue so that won't work. I've never seen anything that will solve your problem but new products come out all the time so you might be lucky.

Also, many TVs that have HDMI also have some phono sockets or a 3.5 jack that can be assigned to it - check this out if you haven't already.

I knew there was a reason it wouldn't work... obvious now you say it.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm now looking to a different solution. Thread to appear in General soon.
