ive had a look and not seen it mentioned on here that there is a way to get a full package on sky for £10 per month

before ya start flaming me, i use it myself, and have done for the last 3-4 years.

its simply to convice someone you know who has sky to sign up to multiroom.

they get it installed by sky

you take the box and card

install in your own home.

admittedly you have to put your own dish up, but since your saving about £30 pm it aint that much of a hassle

if you want HD, grab a HD box off flebay or similar, pair the box to the card at the registered address for sky, unplug it and off you go.

you'd have to pay the additional £10 HD upgrade Pm, but its still a damn sight cheaper!

Part of the T&C of having a multiroom box is that all multiroom boxes should be connected to the telephone line at all times to verify that the boxes are all in the same location.

If the multiroom boxes repeatedly fail the callbacks Sky will initially send a warning letter to the registered user and then if it still continues failing callback they are within there rights to bill the full amount for the multiroom subscription that is being used in a way that violates the T&C.

t&c it is but they dont always act on it. someone i know has had it must be 10 months now and the 2nd box has never been connected, its in the same house so not what op is suggesting but they heard nowt in all that time.

i wouldnt suggest what op is saying tho as if they do get on you its the people you got the box off that get lumbered with it when you have to return it to them.

ive never had it connected to the phone line, and its located 20 miles from the original address.

like the previous posted its upto sky to enforce it, and if in the future it does check, then i'll have to sign up. but in the meantime, i'm happy with it

i have done this in the past and they started by sending letters and after 2 warnings they sent a final warning of disconnection and that was that. took them about 6 months to switch me off. if you can be arsed though just take the box round to where its supposed to live monthly and force a callback( if this can still be done )

From what I hear, they don't disconnect you anymore, just wack you up to full subscription price for the second box.

Good idea in theory but as oneman stated, if a callback is done and box isnt connected they can charge you the full sub for both boxes they dont have to warn you in writing in advance as its a part of the t&c that both boxes should be connected at all times.

You could always say the cat/dog/rat chewed through telephone line and you didnt realise lol

just say that the box is only switched on at the mains while in use which isnt that often. the t&c dont have control over how often you watch tv or if you leave things on standby. they must have good lawyers if it does.

The majority dont get away with it, but often people report they have the luck. To start it will work for a while then odds are probably around 9 out of 10 for having to pay. Not sure why 1 in 10 get away with it though.

reckon Sky wouldnt give a rats arse if box is connected to phone line or not....as long as the income of 10 quid a month is forthcoming.
