Hi folks - this is my first post on this forum, so hello all.
I recently got hold of an FTA-101 digital satellite receiver (which i've read in a few paces are crap). Despite that it was working ok up until a few weeks back. At present it's displays all the freeview channels without issue, however if i try to view say "Sky Sports" it locks up, all i can do is cycle the power on the box.
All the channels used to work perfectly ok - i've reset to factory settings, rescanned for channels (all of which are found) but the same problem occurs. I've been advised that i need to update the software on teh unit which i've tried to do. I got the following:
- Null Modem cable (9pin, female both ends)
- FTA 101 Loader v4.00.exe
- FTA 101_051202_101E_api.bin
I've connected my PC to the receiver, but it doesn't seem to establish a link, thus the update file will not transfer. Does anyone know of any other method of updating this box? I'd be eternally greatful if anyone can provide any guidance or advice.
