I always remove the modem from inside as its just an unncessary device.
Well done for solving your problem :)

How easy/difficult is it to remove the modem?

Also has anyone ever added memory to the DBOX2. my sagem has a slot that looks like it coupd take extra memory.

ok ignore the question about the modem. just opened the top and did it!

2nd question re memory stands and what type of memory should it be?

Just removed my modem card, was only haveing very occasional freezing, so hopefully its cured,as it seems to have cured some allready.

Good find m8 well done.

Removing the modem can only solve some voltage problems. The modem has no dependency to the tuner or the avia chip set.
