floppy drive?

hi guys my floppy drive has disappeared from my computer. it used to work but now it does nothing not even light up. when i go to device manager it says drive is ok but it's not showing in my computer. is it a case of just the drive is knackered or could it be something else?

I assume you've checked the cables in the back of the drive? Power & ribbon cable? Is it showing up in bios?

Assuming it was working and the cables are all OK sounds like a duff drive.

have you tried taking the floppy out swicth comuter back on wait till it loads then shutdown put the drive back in the swicth back on this should resolve the problem or right click on my computer down to properties then hardware then device manager then right click on the top one and scan for hardware changes then have a look in floppy disk drives

got it working. thanks for the replies guys. it was just after i reformatted it wasn't enabled in bios for some reason. thought windows would have done it,but never mind
