Skybox F5 Flash firmware for F5 ?

Hi to everyone. My friend has ask me to try and get his F5 box up and running again. The box is badged up as a F5 and not F5s. How would I know if it is a clone just by visual means as it wont boot. Thanks for any advice in advance
