Any DW member thinking of changing their home heating from either Gas central heating, electric off-peak storage heaters should think very carefully before they go to Fischer Future Heating.

Their figures for “saving” do not add up and could cost you twice as much per day as off peak storage heating and more than 3 times as much as an equivalent radiator on a gas heated system.

Also their “German” radiators use electric power at peak rates, cost around £1400 each and are no better at heating a room than a £30 fan heater with thermostat from B&M or Home Bargains.

Peak electricity costs around 16 pence per kWhr. Off peak white meter electricity cost around 7 pence per kWhr. Gas around 4½ pence per kWhr. The heat loss from any room in the house is the same regardless of the type of heating installed. Fischer Ads offer a 42% saving over off peak storage heaters which is a complete fantasy. They will really will cost you twice as much per day to run not to mention the £8 to 9k average for the installation. Please don’t go there guys.

There are quite a few of these ASA adjudications involving Fischer.

Yes ! I read some of these Nara.
The ASA should also have trashed their figures on alleged savings. The Fischer Ads do not mention the difference in peak/off peak electricity costs or relative costs of gas. The ASA should state that there are no savings to be made, only increased energy costs plus the very high cost of the Fischer system. Trouble is, the ASA have no technical expertise to dispute the claims.
