Fire Cube missing icons after update

My cube updated but since then quite a few of the side loaded apps now have greyed out icon boxes.

Now I know its a pain but to be honest I didn't mind it. I would just scroll over them and the app name would appear.
Problem is this time the friggin name doesn't appear when you scroll over it so you have to either, go into apps and scroll through the list and select launch or simply click on and guess.

Someone suggested install - reinstall but that didn't help
