Have some guys in redoing my drive so I point them towards the cable and telephone cables showing them where they are and to be careful. A minute after saying this the doorbell rings, I think we've cut through the cables, can you check, yep no phone and no TV. Go outside and sure enough the digger has clean cut both cables.
Called out the cable people, guy arrives takes a look has a laugh and says sorry but this isn't a fault as the install team will need to pull new cables through but they aren't available till the first week in September. Looked at the engineer, he was deadly serious so I ask him if he can splice the cables together. Shouldn't really he says but he'll do it and then asks me to call to book an install to re-pull new cables. Just spoke to the install team and they now tell me as the fault has been fixed they won't re-pull new cables until it goes wrong again.
So onto the question, will the re-splice cause any probs, at the mo both the TV and phone are fine but I suppose it's only a matter of time before water gets in.
