Faulty Chips?

Alot changes in 4 weeks :) i see theres new images from DJ and Liam the DBOX master! will be trying them out in the next few weeks.

Im in the process of sorting out boxes i might have spare tuners, LCDs, Motherboards. Will keep u posted if anyones interested send me a PM.

got 1 box thats giving me alot of greif if anyone can help i suspect faulty chips onboard? its a 2xI intels, can i remove them wit a hotair gun and replace?

May I suggest that you try an older version of IFA to flash the boxes?
 
While erasing blocks 0x00000000-0x00020000 on /dev/mtd/4: Input/output error

There is something wrong with the intel flash chips.
Its possible to replace the chips but the chips must be preprogrammed with the correct bootloader for that box.

Sorry to jump on this post, i am still waiting for someone to send my mainboard from dbox to to have the SEC chip replaced, (coy look) ;)

Thats what i thought MGB oh well, i guess i'll have to scrap it i know the tuner is ok n so is the Lcd n power supply. its a sagem box if anyone wants spare parts drop me a PM.

I have one question, did you try re-flashing the boot loader to the box ??

The bootloader cannot repair hardware.

You can use such a box with a yadd image and boot up the whole thing via network. You need a pc beside the box but the dbox is useable without repairing in such a way.
