Who can i go to to make a complaint about an estate agents, cause i have a friend who has a house that they are selling but they don't seem to be getting any help off there agent, as they have a buyer for the house but some things have come up on the survey, they are willing to fix some of the thing and take some money off the house, they have been asking the estate agent over and over again to ask the buyer if this is ok but they never come back to them.

Thanks

Get your mate to check if his buildings insurance would cover any of it... if he's got any that is.

Otherwise Estate Agents are a law unto themselves. See if they are registered with the Ombudsman for Estate Agents or one of the other regulators. However he needs to know that registration to any of them is entirely voluntary.

Is there no other way of contacting the potential buyer? As in not selling through the estate agent.

That way your friends can drop the price of the house and save on the agent's fees... Still that could be easier said than done and it can depend on the buyers mortgage company too.
