iPhone error msg 6 ? when trying to restore

My sons m8 has messed his phone up .....a bit vague as to what he has done ....I think he took the official 2.0 FW.....and now its just displaying the lead to itunes logo....I tunes sees it in recovery but when trying to put custom fw on it itunes pops up an error msg with the number 6...anyone had this ? any solutions ?

yeah i kept on getting this and error 20, i gave it to my mate who done it on a mac first time no problem.

All sorted ......I think the error is something to do with the phone not being put in DFU mode properly...I found this :


DFU Alternative Method:

Step 1. Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.

Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.

Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.

Followed this and it all went well.....updated OK ..
