got box from mate to fix it is a ditv 2000t, it lost its net id and freq, reset it and used it for a day, when i came in it says err1, re booted and took an updadate again as it did the day before when i reset net id, any ideas as to what could be the problem

just re flow the chips as they are not down right uselly the right one pins 1 to 24

Check the bat' as well mate if its low then that would also cause you to loose the Net id and freq'.
It should be about 3.3V, if its less than 3volts then replace it.
