Energy bill problem

My suggestion is actually not CAB but to make a complaint to the appropriate regulators. I had a similar situation with EON some years ago. They reviewed my account and dropped my direct debit … then later turned round and re-reviewed it and now said I owed them a grand. Whilst I could have paid it off, I decided to fight and make them wait.

Once the regulators get involved you will find there attitude will change. I ended up paying what I owe normally + a small amount extra over an extended period of time (about 18 months).
 
Just an update..I still havnt heard anything from the probate dept regarding the outstanding money owed by my late wife...I'm assuming they have written the debt off . I'm paying Bills now in my name on new account..
