DW making computer hang

For a little while now I've being having problems after exiting digital world: often my computer will hang, not letting me open other programs or shut down. It also happens sometimes during a session on DW if I open more windows.

No problems with any other websites.

I've noticed that ever since the 'snow' java effect was put in place, the pages load a bit slower Maybe this is the case?

I'm using IE and the original skin - vbulletin.

It's only happening on DW - no other sites - and only since the upgrade.

iv experienced problems with the java effects on firefox!! really eats up CPU usage, internet exporer seems to be the better choice!
