hi there help needed my mate brought me his brothers and his sisters box round to me to look at .. as they both whent off at the same time. there dvb4000 the dealer who sold them at £170 a pop i may add ... has disapeared so i tried reprograming the cards atmega au ... but with no joy they just sit there saying updating ... now there from the same area as me and on my box the software as updated to p1.cr 4.12 build 1 .... and on one of there boxs it says 4.12 build 2 .... now im thinking my box updated itself no problems to 4.12 ... were as the update to 4.12 on the 2 dvb4000 hasnt took properly as its showing no channels what so ever..... this is in tw area and both boxs are tw any idears or info on how to fix this would be much apreciated ... thanks

anyone help cry...cry... they have been ripped off and now the slimy little dealer who sold them the boxs has been abducted by aliens becuase they cant find him anywere on planet earth..... ive said i;ll have ago for them since ive got a programer. i told them that i would reprogram there cards as the dealer had the ird and box keys writtin on the bottom of the box.... but that aint working. and i think its do with been updated to cr4 .... does anyone know if cr4 kills the 4000dvb. or if there mite be a no update mod done ... both boxs are 4000dvb and both were done by the same guy. ive took the top of one and from doing a search on here ive found out that the talkback is cut via the wire method. any help from anyone who knows about these boxs would be apreciated thanks.
This is a picture of the 4000 no update mod, so if your box has those two resistors then it hasn't had it done ok.
I would first check to see what it says in the Engineers Menu for what the net id says and on the signal quality and the card status and the ird number and compare it with the numbers you have on the bottom of the box.
If you really want to go that one step further do a search on the jtag method to confirm your bk numbers are correct as well ok.
Then come back to us and we'll help you further ok

thanks for the reply clive and sorry for my inpatience...
ive took the lid of both boxs and on both it has the talk back cut .... and somethink strange on one it has a blue wire going to a chip yet on the other box it dosent have this ... pluss the one with the wire on seems to have stuff missing ... i;ll add a pic of each and ive highlighted whats missing of the other box ... sorry if i sound confusing and for the poor quality pics

Its a SA4000 not a pace 4000
You could try undoing the talk back mod and forceing a update and see if that helps..........you are not along m8, my m8's is doing the same thing
ok thanks clive ... lol the camera i got is lets say extremley poor ... and there the best pics it takes lol. but ive took 2 shots from a higher angle that may give u an idear of what that wire does ... and on the one with out the wire its got a chip and like a long silver transister not a round one .. were as the one with the wire has this missing all though there is a spot there for it also the chip is missing its just got the silver legs were a chip would be solderd on.
ok thanks intel .... if your mate gets it fixed let me know how he done it ... when i go into the engie menue it says software version 4.12 build 2 ...... but on the diagnostic screen it says waiting for update .. its not on stream just power plugged in ... but i have tryed it on stream but nothink happens.
If you mean page 4 where it states "waiting for update" it's more than likely because there is no transport stream and the menu can't update.
I think those wires were a mod from the PCB assembly company too, not an anti-update measure.

im not sure if ive programed the atmega card wrong. so heres what i did .... as its been a wile since i done this so im not sure if its correct... what i done was used toxic7_ExtEEgen i put the ird and box key in here and saved an ext as new i then wrote the ext to the atmega ext i then wrote the file Toxic7TW to the flash on the atmega is this correct...... anyway heres some pics of what comes up on the tv when i boot it up .... as you can see i just get a black screen.

You cant test the Atmega card yet as your having the same problem as everyone else..........you can get the menus up and the channel no's on the box + on the screen but no picture and not even FTA channels?

im sure i read on here somewere that someone had a similar problem not sure what the box type was ... but they said they checked there neighbours subbed box and there network id was diffrent ... so he changed his boxs net id to the same as next doors and everythink worked again..... but i dont think this is our problem ...... in any case these boxs dont have a port to connect to computer to change net with libby. also another point mite be ..... that on my d1000 box wich updated no problems it updated to 4.12 build 1 were as these 4000dvb boxs have updated to 4.12 build 2 .... now i have no idear what the diffrence is between build 1 and build 2 ...... is

it seems some of these 4000dvb's upgrade to cr4 without any problems, "yet some need the the tb enabled to get them working again" ----{i know the cc shipped out some sa4000's and the interactive never worked for some reason}-"this was on legit subbed box's"-----{so assumeing the sa4000 needs the tb enabled to complete the update,"then some box's might not update properly because interative never worked on there box in the 1st place"}
the above is only speculation {wheather you need tb enabled is anyones guess}
if i was you lads, i would reprogram the u48 with a dump from a cr3 area, just to make sure the upgrade hasn't knackered the box in someway

hi intel have you tryed with the talkback on ..... but another thing ive noticed is the power levels and such sometimes -5 now i know from cable modems that when its like that you aint going to get internet ... so maybe andy is onto somethink .... on a sufboard cable modem you can get the internal webpage and change certain stuff yourself and save the changes .... frequency and stuff wich helps if you set the correct channel id and frequency .... but the power level is another think alltogether pluss i dont know how or if you can access the 4000dvb internal webpage.
