Im looking to split a DVB-T signal. Can i split the cable that goes into the back of the TV that is coming from the aerial or do i have to run another cable to the aerial?

i want the tv and receiver to both have access to the channels without having to unplug the cable from one and plug into the other.

If it is possible to split the cable. what is i need to buy?

You can split aetail/cable signal. There is no need for direct wires to aerial/distribution point unless there is severe signal loss.

You can use a choc block or twist the wires if you want. However, better to get f-plugs and a splitter.
Labgear 2-Way Splitter with Power Pass All Ports

If you want to use belling-lee connections, youc an use the Y-splitters.
