😭😭😭 Smax clutch release bearing/dual mass flywheel knackered...ouch...thats a big bill. new car time.

yep...2 garages that I have used for years have quoted 8-900. False economy on a car that's worth around the 2k mark at a push.

Its not false economy if everything else on the car is fine and it suits your driving/family situation,

You could go out a buy another car for more then the flywheel repair and it could sit down on you the week after ;)

Agree to a degree Dave but after 11 years and 225km in your money I can only envisage further big spends.

I had a not very old Tucson and the clutch/box was making some rattly sounds, along with heavy clutch pedal. I'd read about dual-mass flywheels in these things and found you can convert it (quite cheaply) to an ordinary flywheel. Once it was in bits it was discovered mine already had a normal flywheel, it was still an expensive clutch though!
But if you like the car it might be worth investigating.

2006 VW Transporter 174 hp AXE with 31000 km. DMF starts making noise. Repair is expensive...
