How is your tuner setup ?

Simple
Positioner
Coordinate's

If so use the sat finder option or you may find it easier just to install a motorised satellite list such as Catseyes or likra.

I managed to use the tuner configuration from another working box that i have, but my friend only managed to contact me this morning and advised to send across sattelites.xml file from filzilla - does it ring the bell?

Tomorrow I should be able to get Amiko 8140 HD Digital Satellite Receiver, as I was not sure if I will manage to get my TM800 working, so more challenges tomorrow. The same friend recommended that Amiko box, will give it a try, i can't get all the channel I want anyway.

Thanks.
Any images will run with cable, it just detects the tuner as a cable one.

Although i do recommend using openATV

Here's my guide for a DM800 clone and Blackhole.

DM800 HD PVR Clone Setup – Dream-Elite-BlackHole-DM800-2012-06-16-Sim2-SSL-84b

  1. Unpack contents and Plug in all the bits except the power supply
  2. Download a suitable Image if you need to. Try www.filecrop.com . The Download is usually a rar file. If so extract the rar file using Winrar to an NFI file
  3. Insert a USB flash disk.
  4. Depress the small reset button at the front of the Dreambox and plug in the power supply.
Keep your finger on the reset button until the front display reads “Stop”. Release immediately and an IP address will show. Make a note of the IP address
  5. Launch Firefox – (If you need a new image then download it from first.)
  6. Type in the IP address from the Dreambox into the address bar and wait for the FLASH screen.
Press the word Flash which is in some text on the screen
Select Browse and navigate to the place where you stored the NFI file.
    These work:

MANY THANKS wetpatch, Do you or other members think that with OpenATV images V 4.0(compatible with both Gigablue and Dm 800 Hd pvr clone), some problems might arise.

I have got some setbacks in the mounting of the usb 4GB, can anyone help if I provide details of the root of same. I wish the swapfile to work smoothly.

Thanks again.

Here's my guide for a DM800 clone and Blackhole.

I used these commands to set up my USB

(Launch DCC and select TELNET)
See what disks you have
[email protected]:~# fdisk –l

[email protected]:~# fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 1007 MB, 1007681536 bytes
31 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1024 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1922 * 512 = 984064 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 1024 984060 b Win95 FAT32

- The USB device is on /dev/sda1
Unmount it first
[email protected]:~# umount /dev/sda1
- To initialize (to ext3), one time only needed :
[email protected]:~# mkfs.ext3 /dev/sda1

Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done-
Mounting the External File System / Flashdrive
[email protected]:~# mount /dev/sda1 -w /mnt/usb

The line mounts the device at the /dev/sda1 location to the /mnt/usb directory.

Now you can reference your flashdrive from the command line using the folder /mnt/usb.
Now your flashdrive will be available at cd /media/usb/

- Unmount if you don't use :
umount -f -l /mnt/usb
To view the unique identifier of the usb [email protected]: # ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid/

- See memory amount on devices : df -h (this only once mounted)
[email protected]:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 60.0M 57.6M 2.4M 96% /
none 71.0M 6.6M 64.4M 9% /var/volatile
none 71.0M 60.0K 70.9M 0% /dev
none 71.0M 0 71.0M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/mtdblock2 3.8M 2.3M 1.4M 62% /boot
/dev/sda1 1.8G 34.8M 1.8G 2% /media/usb
/dev/disk/by-uuid/2abe9efc-099b-4f62-9935-ee073265f88d
1.8G 34.8M 1.8G 2% /media/hdd

Automount In the Terminal
To have your flashdrive mount each time your server is restarted, you must edit your /etc/fstab file. Some examples to Add at the bottom of your /etc/fstab file:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usb ext3 defaults 0 0
/autofs /media/usb auto defaults 0 0
/dev/sda1 /mnt/sdb1 vfat auto,users,rw 0 0
/dev/sda1 /mnt/usb auto noauto,owner,user,relatime 0 0

If the image is DreamElite put an # at the beginning of the line
Change the attributes of FSTAB to 644

The first argument (/dev/sda1) tells the system what device to mount, and the second argument (/mnt/usb) tells the system where to mount it. The third argument is the filesystem type (ext3). The fourth argument (defaults) tells the system what options to apply to the device, so in this case we’ll just use the defaults. The fifth and sixth arguments (both zeros) tell the system if the filesystem should be backed up using the dump utility, and the second zero tells the system whether to process the device when a File System Check (fsck /dev/sda1) is run. Leave them both to zero for now.
