You flash it by browser just like you would a image it will not effect your current image and takes seconds to flash.

You need to use the nfi version.

flash bootloader then flash image then optional flash bootloader again

reboot box once done

important bit

do not reboot before you have flashed both the bootloader & image

try openpli 4.0 you can download softcams from plugin menu

Is anyone having trouble with the network link going down on this image? If I restart the network is links back up, this seems to be happening daily. I have not ruled out a fault with my hardware, but this is the first time I have experienced this. Any ideas?

Ive done a newer 3.0 image that is in the downloads and thats fine

Ill see if I got time the weekend to do a new 4.0

I dont think so 2.1 is OE1.6 and 4.0 is OE2.0 try a restore but it may not work.
