Im not lazy just hopeless lol

Right i have a dongle
An external 500gb Hard drive
a 250gb internal drive in the ps3

Do i

Plug the dongle into ps3
Download open manager (does this run from my pc?)
and i assume the above transfers the game to the internal hard drive?

any steps im missing?

Turn the console off by the power and back, put in the dongle, turn power on at back, and press eject mate.

Have open manager on the external HDD, you will need to install it as a package I think... Or maybe thats backup manager, I aint really sure. You can use tools within open manager to transfer stuff from ext to internal.

so i download open manager stick it on the external hard drive.. and im assuming that has some form of exe which is ran when i start up the ps3?
 
No once your ps3 is jail broken you get 2 folders one is called "install packages"

You can then install backup manaer from there via your usb stick or hdd.

right so am i right in saying psgroove is already on it and i dont need to program a hex on it?

is it literally just jailbreaking the ps? (which i still dont know how to do lol)

Yes mate, its already flashed with the hex v1.
 
What device have you got?

whatever it is once you have the hex on it or if it already comes preloaded you stick it in a usb slot on the ps3.

Then if you have a phat console turn the switch off at the back and then turn back on, if it's a slim pull the power cord out and plug it back in.

The press the power button on the ps3 and as fast as you can press eject.

The dongle will then do it's thing running the hex.

When you go to GAME on the ps3 you will see two folders Install packages for installing home brew. And the ps3 game folder which atm is not used for much.

so far im following lol right so i install open back up on the hard drive.. im assuming i can FTP Games to the hard drive ? still think im a few steps short of being good to go?

Right just put the backup manager .pkg file on the external hdd, then go to the install packages folder.

You will see the backup manager file in there select it then press x to run it it will install in seconds.

Then go back to game on the xmb and you will see the installed backup manager.

Backup manager is were you run games from.

If its a red one mate, then its this dongle. I dont know what one I sent you, if its a black one its the maximus AVR board.

i cant get mines into backup mode?

ive nearly rubbed the eject button off
