Hey all,

Anyone have ever use a automatic dog/cat feeder before. Are they any good, reliable etc..

My use case for one is we have a wedding and will be gone for a few days as everyone we know will also be gone to this wedding the usual people we would ask to look after the dog (30kg AM-Staff) are not around.

Currently the dog is outside all day and comes into the house in the evening until the next morning. Our plan is to get an auto feeder for outside but we can put it into the shed if one is not water proof. It doesn't need to be fancy or anything just has to release food twice a day for the few days we are gone.

Seen a few online but not sure what I should be looking for.

From my experience, you don't need a smart feeder. An automatic feeder once set for time intervals will do just that. Just check the dog food and setup a refilling notification on your phone

I got this one in the end and am very happy with it. It can store about 7 days worth of food for my 30KG Am-Staff and you can record a message to play everytime it ejects the food.

My fella been using it about 2 months now and all going well so far.
