Do TW now use Dynamic IP instead of Fixed?

Hello guys, just wondering if it is just me but has anyone else in a TW area noticed that their long standing static IP address has now gone Bye Bye?

If this is indeed the case can a clever cable chappy, like nozzer, explain the reasons please? Thanks in advance, Chris.

TW have never used static IP addresses for domestic customers - they have always been dynamic.

Mostly though, you will be assigned the same IP repeatably whenever your IP lease is renewed as long as your router/PC MAC address stays the same.

This is by no means guaranteed though and IP's do tend to change whenever they decide to re-segment an area or otherwise make hardware changes !

Yup, we've always had dynamic IPs, just remove your router and you'll most likely be assigned a new IP.
