disappearing avatars?

I have just noticed that some avatars are disappearing?

Is this some nefarious scheme from the government whereby avatars are now subjected to a tax?

Or is something much more sensible up?

Mines was X'd out as well, so I uploaded it a coupla minutes ago & it seems OK.

noticed the other day mine kept disapearing in certain sections also my sigpic.
