Simple sales tactick 9.99 is usually seen as £9.00 in the minds eye therefor sounds cheaper than £10.00.

In the good old days I could go to the cinema and watch buster keaton, have two pints of ale, fish and chips (IN NEWSPAPER!), and get a topless hand shandy from the local slut, and still have change from half hapenny!

It's mad I tells ya, maaaaaad!

The guys said it was till he got supplies and also offered MOT discount to anybody filling up. I am not saying that he did not make money out of it but I can see some sense in trying to make the supplies last.
