ive just purchased a dbox2 and it seems to be stuck in a loop it goes from start screen to loading kernel and then back to start screen and this then carries on, ive tried to reflash using IFA but to no avail, thanks in advance

The only way you can flash it is with IFA.

Use a null modem cable and a crossover ethernet cable.

Make sure your network card in your PC has a static ip address, i.e. 192.168.1.200.
Disable all firewalls and shutdown all antivirus software.

If your PC has HT (hyperthreading) technology it will have to be disabled in the bios.

Keep the box turned off, run IFA and put the right settings in, then when you hit the last OK and the box minimises to the taskbar, plug in the box. If it doesn't say 'FLASHING' on the LCD, press the up arrow and standby button together on the front of the box, it will reset and try again. Keep doing this until it connects.

its starting to flash ok then the box just reboots and flash log starts all over again and so on and so on

It won't be flashing unless it says 'FLASHING' on the lcd. Sounds like it's just running through the boot process then rebooting.

Use IFA, a crossover netwok cable and a nullmodem cable and follow the advices from Devilfish.

ive done that mate, ive flashed a few boxes before but this one is causing some problems with it stuck in a loop of boot screen then load kernel then back to boot screen and so on

If you use a nullmodem cable you should get a log output at the IFA window.
If you read boot net failed the request from the box didn't reach IFA via the network
Disable Winxp firewall, av soft and so on in such a case..

ok disabled all firewalls and anti virus but still not flashing bootlog says boot net does not have valid signature

do you know where i can get it ive not got enough posts to use downloads

ok managed to reflash with commando6 but when bootup just gets to the part when the world should start spinning it reboots itself so reflashing image has not made a difference to problem

I would try as many images as you can. Hopefully one will work.

If not, send it back to the seller and get a replacement or refund.
