Dbox won't flash, just loops.

Hi, this is my first post although I have managed to get 2 previous Dboxes working without too much trouble.

OK, here goes,

I have connected via a crossover cable with null modem attached to COM1 also.

I can ftp no problem and browse the dbox folders also.

When I run the Flash assistant and power on the dbox it just continually loops.

It does not display "flashing" on LCD of Dbox like I was expecting.

It has the Yadi image and I am trying to put the Sportster image on.

So far I have concluded that I may require different flashing software other than ifa that most people use.

Any help would really be appreciated.

I have followed the instructions in the document file and dropped the image into the temp folder but when I get to the stage of choosing flash without bootloader there is no image file to choose.
Do I have to change the config file to point to /tmp or /var/tmp or something like that? I did not see any info regarding this in the document file.

Put the image you want to flash in the \tmp folder on the box.
Dont reboot the box
Then using your remote flash the box
Make sure its the right image for the box ie: 2x or 1x
Hope this helps.

Everytime I try to send the file to the /tmp folder the box hangs and I have to reboot (causing me to loose the file?)

Any ideas what is wrong?

Cheers

Hiya

I had exactly the same thing when I tried to flash my new DBOX last night. I got round this by having the DBOX plugged in from the start and then in IFA when it tells you to click OK and then plug in the DBOX, instead click OK and then do a warm reset on the DBOX. (Hold in the power button and the up button at the same time). After doing this my box flashed without any problems at all.

Hope this helps you
