Need to get my attic in order, all wires run here and is a complete mess.

Have whole house done in cat 6, coax for sat and aerial and cctv over ethernet.

I only have a 16 port switch, im not sure i need a patch panel, what is the efits in having one

Also these data cabinets range between £60 to several hundred, whats recommended one for my setup?

There is no benefit to you having a patch panel, unless you have more then one incoming ISP provider tbh.

As is for personal use, the cheapest one will be fine, unless you want to hung it to the wall, then also check the weight, you just need to check the size, as there is different wide standards.
Find something which fits on your available space and have room for all the stuff you want to put on it.
Also in my opinion, your setup doesn't require a patch panel, you can just connect the cables to the switch. A patch panel is useful when you need to interconnect different cabinets or in large network setups. Safe your money :p

Are these a popular thing?

Unsure if worth buying or selling?
