cpu power on motherboard

My cpu power connector on the motherboard needs an 8 pin connector, its running with only a 4 atm. Does this affect anything?

I've put an order in for a 550w corsair one so hopefully, if there is any issues, the new psu will solve it.

thanks dude, but my psu is only a 300w. think i should just buy a new psu? Just wondered if it would affect performance.

Yeah at 300w its not upto the job on such a mobo.
