Coverting image from 1x to 2x

Just wondeing what software is best to use to convert images from 1x to 2x and vice versa.

JFFS2 Image Works software is great, its in the downloads section somewhere. Instructions are included in the zip file.

However, the software will only work on JFFS images - it wont work with squashfs images such as Sportster Pro.
