Could Someone Help Me Configure Enigma2 Box for IPTV Streaming?

Hello Everyone:):)

I am looking for help setting an Enigma2 box so it can be optimised for IP TV communication. I have been using an Enigma 2 device for a while, primarily for satellite TV; but I have recently become more interested in IP TV because it allows me to access a greater selection of channels and on demand entertainment; I am not having the smooth experience I expected with the IP TV feeds; and I think there is more I can do in terms of settings and setup to improve performance.

  • Actually I am having a reasonably fast internet connection; I am getting frequent lagging and obvious slowness; with HD and 4K videos. Are there any special settings and plugins I should use to reduce buffering in Enigma 2? I have heard about cache settings, but I am not sure how to adjust them properly.
  • I understand that Enigma 2 supports a variety of plugins, and I have already loaded the Xtream TV plugin for my IP TV membership. I'm interested in any more effective plugins for IP TV streaming. Any advice for ones that perform well with HD /4K channels and have a smooth user experience would be highly appreciated.
  • I am also coming across issues with the Electronic Program Guide when utilizing IP TV. The channels do not appear to synchronise well with the guide, and I receive either no EPG data or absolutely wrong information. I tried a couple EPG importers, but they do not appear to function regularly. Are there any suggestions for correcting the EPG for IP TV channels?
  • My Enigma 2 box communicates via Wi-Fi, and while I realise cable is usually preferred, it is not an option at the present. Are there any settings I can change on the devices in order to increase Wi-Fi performance, such as specialised DNS servers or network buffers? Would a Wi-Fi extension and powerline adapter make a big difference?
  • If you have a smooth running IPTV configuration on your Enigma2 boxes, I'd like to hear about your overall setup process. What actions did you take to make sure everything ran smoothly? Are there any other tools, settings, or external devices I should look at to improve my IPTV experience?
Also I explored some topics related to this. https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/threads/police-website-offers-pirated-live-sports-streams-asdevopstraining-iptv-foia-requests-denied.477999/ but I did not get the sufficient solution of my query so I would really want to get some help from a more experienced person

I am running an OpenATV image on my Enigma2 device in case it helps with troubleshooting and recommendations. I have done some research and attempted a few alternatives, but I believe I'm only touching the surface of this box IP TV capabilities.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer. I really appreciate it🥰🤝

Firstly, could the poor performance be down yo your IPTV supplier?

I would also try connecting via ethernet to rule out if it's down to a WiFi problem. :)

What E2 box is it ?

Some of the older boxes do not support the H265 codec the majority of IPTV subs are not using.

Hi, the problem with using IPTV on E2 devices is that those devices have little memory to do buffering, when the connection is stable all works fine but when the connection starts failing, there's no buffer to compensate for that.

Install the JediMaker plugin which is compatible with all Vu+, place your m3u link inside the playlists file in etc/enigma2, then open the JediMaker plugin and follow the steps to create normal playlists in seconds.

With JEDIMAKER to receive the EPG correctly you can also modify the service reference of each channel with the same service reference of the satellite channels, for example: IP TV ref. 1:40:00:f4… Sat ref. 0:d8:00:35…. Simply change the IP TV ref. to the Sat ref. This only works if the streaming type in JediMaker is DVB (1) Then just choose the source of the correct country in the EpgImport Plugin and you will have the Epg.
