What would make an electric cooker trip when turned off at the cooker socket?.

Its not everytime its quite random. It seems to be if you forget and turn the socket off at the wall while the oven dials are off but the fan is still cooling.

would say a faulty switch if it only trips when you touch the main switch

Is the fan still running after you isolate the cooker mate? If so I would think dodgy switch as surely the switch is supposed to isolate the whole cooker from the supply?

The fan stays on for about 5 mins after cooling the oven down. What I mean is, sometimes someone might turn it off at the wall say 2-3 mins after theyve finished cooking and turned the temp control off then turn it off while the fan is still running.

The fan and power to the oven stops but the cooker randomly trips. It doesn't do it everytime say every 10-15 times. It has even tripped "after" the fans stopped then turning it off at the wall but that's only happened a couple of times.

no, its as though the surge while the cooler fan is still running trips it. It's not all the time , its kind of random but annoying
