Can anybody help me with connecting my dbox2 (sagem) to my laptop? I'm a real beginner.
When I connect the laptop upto the dbox using a rj45 crossover cable and go under control panel > network connections > right click on LAN connection > Connection Properties dialog box appears then click on “Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)” and then click on the “Properties” button. Instead of being presented with a box to alter the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties as shown in the tutorials, I get a box which says:
client for microsoft network properties
RPC Service
The name service provider and and network address can be changed for the remote procedure call (RPC service)
followed by the option for Windows locator or DCE cell directory service under name service prvovider.
i don't understand what this means,
Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?
(I am connected to the internet using a router (LAN cable, if this has anything to do with it)
