Condom Ads in prime time?

Should condom adverts be shown during prime time viewing?

Before you all slate me this is a discussion
Now atm im watching Hollyoaks and to my suprise ive just watched a Durex ad. Now when and whom decided this was ok. No this is not a rant cos im in favour of it but prime time??? Next it will be on the kids channel :proud:
I know channel 4 often walk a fine line but come on. Is this the right thing to do. Please do discuse!

they should NEVER, NEVER , NEVER be allowed to show "hollyoaks" at prime time......

Eastenders next will i still get the ad. I dont think so
 
Just seen one after the news, take it life is starting at a younger age now and there are enough unwanted teen pregnancies these days if this stops some of them then it's worth the prime time showing.
 
We didnt get the condom ad during emmerdale adverts..

Dont matter anyway.. no one wears them anyway..

Yep i will agree
All those good looking people in one place never happens. Why aint they got at least one Heather(eastenders) in the cast. But its channel 4 thats why i watch cos they stretch the boundries

i even wished it was on so no ads of DUREX. but thats why we pay for a licence and all i might add

I did not know safe sex has a time limit? ie only after 8.oclock or watever.

is it not good the let the people know about safe sex than not?

its aimed at the youngsters as there there one who need to know and stop poping kids out as if there were popcorn or smarties.

It may be too late to edit your original post but admin/mods should be able to add a poll for you.

For future reference regarding polls.

When you start a thread, below the post window there is an additional options window and at the very bottom of that is poll options, just tick the box and edit the amount of options in your poll and submit your thread. A new window will pop up asking you poll title and poll options, fill in the lines you need and submit again...poll will be added to thread.

btw...while you are filling in the poll options, the thread will have originally be posted when you hit submit 1st time so you may get the usual smart ass like myself asking where the poll is when you are still filling in the poll options...:proud:

When you atart a new thread you have the tital then your message then at the bottom you have "additinal options" The last tick box says:

Post a Poll
Yes, post a poll with this thread
Number of poll options: (Maximum: 10)

Check this and add the number of options you want to add to the poll.

Heres another issue .... should the adverts be "Branded" if they are for public benefit and not the profets of one supplier eg. Durex?

I remember in the 80's there were some adverts that were not branded...

i agree m8 with ya ..but ....its not a goverment imformation advert .durex are paying for it .so why not mention there product ? the goverment should be sending this message and us parents ..not a company...if you get wot i mean
 
Those generic condom ads were when they had the big aids scare originally, that was why the government paid for them.

You sure of that? I hardly think Durex suddenly decided it's ok to show them at that time. Suspect it's government decision in light of Alfie Pattern case or whatever his name was ...
 
I never said it was, i was just explaining your reference as not everyone would remember the case.
