chip replacement..

does anyone know where i can purchase the chip that blows in most tomtoms leaving just a green light on..mines a tomtom 300..thanx for any help..: multi :

You really need the IC number - if you have that I can source, but it depends on what it is too - if it's a mem chip it's probably got some code on it - that might be a an issue.

I had a quick look around but only found this site offering repairs with this fault...

They have a link to give them the details of your fault. You could try asking them what coudl be wrong with your TT and they might give you the IC number.

These two are the usual culprits. Repaired a couple now. Both times these were changed one worked fine and the other needed a transistor as well.

These are the RS order codes for the bits you need.

TPS62000 462-3714 £2.89 each U24
LTS3411 506-1842 £4.67 each U25

The board has the part numbers (u24, u25, etc) printed on it.
