Channel Remapping-Is it Possible on 4001?

I have a question for the teckies to ask if I can remap the channel line up other than doing it manually in the guide? Reason being is that my brother in law still has a box in Ireland which the channels are all mixed up-i.e a music channel on 1, Chelsea TV on 2, and a porn channel on 4. The channel numbers are 1,2,3,4...... and not 101,102,103,104.... for a reasonI can't work out? I have put it down to the update here being different to over there as I have brought the box back 3 weeks ago and it works perfect in NTL here with the right channels 101,102....Or is there a way to reset these back to an earlier version or force an update? He has a 4010 which he can force and works perfect but i don't know how to do it with the 4001 or is it possible? When it boots up it comes up with the "starting" in the right hand corner then goes to Ch 0 for about 20 secs then jumps to Ch12 or something. All the channels are there but in a weird order-I have tried to rearrange manually BTW and when I set them back to default in the guide/prog setup screen they revert back so this seems to be the line up. Any ideas anyone?

I got the same problem. Its basically because the box is from a different area and has not updated to 3.7. You need to take it back to the area it came from, reset the net id to that area, let it update and then bring it back to where you're using it and reset net id to your area.

I have not tried it yet with my box but I'm sure this is what needs doing.

Hi All,

Not 100% here but worth a look? go into setting via remote then set your favourite channels and see if you can reset it in there.
I'm sure I have had to do this in the past after an update.

I don't think this is possible on a 4001. The 4010 never had any doscis software released althought it was capable of running there. However the 4001 was purely for pure and will only work there
