after restoring my vu clone i remembered about the same mac address and ive tried to change this without success...all that happens is i lose network so i have to restore my last back up. ive used two possible ways 1. add a script and 2. edit the the nfsroot file

is there a simple and easier way??

mac address is like a passport for box no way of changing it,is it the other ip address you want to change,menu-setup-system-network-device setup-adapter settings-use dhcp to change ip address and double logging into network.

ftp to /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/nfsroot

edit nfsroot

and add this

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

change only last 4 digits
if this was your mac
00:1D:EC:03:61:1F

should look like this
could be 00:1D:EC:03:
62:1A

the top of the nfsroot script now looks like this

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

save changes
reboot vu
reboot router
