Cat5e CCA cable any good for CCTV ?

Would CCA cat5e cable be OK to use for a home CCTV installation ?. It's only a heaper Hikvision set up

That will be fine. It would want to be a very very high resolution video for cat5e not to be able to handle it.

Your switch and router are going to be the bottle neck more.than the cable.
 
Nice one , I just wondered as a 100m roll is about £12 dearer from CCA to full copper
 
The composition of the cable should not matter if it is rated for 5e then it shoul be capable of cat5e speeds.

Price difference probably due to the price of copper.
 
personally for the price never touch it again, used it once for networking and tried it on CCTV and the Noise it lets in and its also not suitable for POE due to the resistance.

for the extra few quid get full copper
 
While I'm at it, whats a decent balun ?. I have used those cheap green eBay ones for video/power but there crap, I threw them away
