card removed error

A mate has a d1000t that has been working without any probs. Since yesterday, everytime the channel is changed a message box appears stating that the card is removed, pressing OK got rid of the message and all works ok. Today the message is coming up every 5 mins or so. Anyone know what might be wrong.
