Is it possible to replace card reader in 4001 box?
If so how? any guidance will be really appretiated...

They are easy 8 pins and 2 extra for switch. 10pins in total then unclip, Why would you be replacing it?

do i need to desolder the pins. I tried pulling it but they are soldered.
Problem is box is not reading the card properly. Read some where it could be due to card reader or card itself. in em it shows mute error. I know card is fine. only thing left is to replace it with known working one which luckliy I've got one from old box.

Before going further you could check to see whether you get Mute err with no card in. Usually the sign of a problem caused by a short circuit capacitor.

when card is not in. it says card removed. There is another error on page 19(i think) where it shows all boot messages. It says some thing about card driver. card driver wasn't able to talk...

doesn,t sound like a faulty reader to me m8, "have you tried useing a diffrent card" ??????
