Cant use lense cleaner

Hi all
Ive just acquired a PS2
Bought it as a bundle with a psp
Both were supposed to be faulty
Psp was bricked but now fixed
So on i went to my 1st ps2
This machine boots up games music and dvds fine
But when i try my lens cleaner it says disc error
Note everything else ive tried seems to work fine
anyone got any ideas what could be wrong with it
And yes the lens cleaner works on my pc

take the lid off the ps2 and clean the laser manually with a cotton bud..will do a better job than the laser disc cleaner.......but sounds like the ps2 is playing the games ok ....not sure why the disc cleaner dont work tho....: multi :

yeah id say take the case and dvd cover off and get a cotton bud and some cleaning alcohol. best give it a clean and go from there.

Just ordered a new case flip top and swop magic only £22 inc p&p
When they come will try that
But as i said it was supposed to be faulty
and that the only fault i can find which sounds odd
especially as it was from cash convertors
And they would have had as much if not more knowledge on the things than me
