Can you update a US wii via the internet in the UK?

hi guys

im thinking of getting a US wii, with step down converter

my only concern at the moment is about the updating of the firmware.

if i mod it with argon/wasabi/d2pro

can i update the Wii's firmware via the internet here in the UK? or would i have to use an NTSC game like SSBB to get it to update to latest firmware?

hopefully when installing the region free option on the mods, i would be able to play PAL games aswell

any thoughts?

Not really sure on that one....but i would think if you tried to connect up in this country the connection may fail.
I would presume that the wii will have the web addy already installed on the chip somewhere so if you purchased a NTSC one that i would hope have the US addy...??? but totally not sure...Stick with the Game updates to be sure...and avoid a brick?? lol

just make sure you don't upgrade via a game from a differnt region

My wii is a US NTSC and I've updated it over the net several times since I've had without any problems
