hi all any one have any info on makeing your own dual wan router im sure ive seen it on the forum before thanks in advance all
Cheapest way is with an old PC and one of the many versions of linux specifically set up to act as a router. It takes a little setting up but once you've got it working chances are it will outperform commercial dual-wan routers costing over £500. Something like an old celeron 500 is perfectly adequate for the job and these machines can usully be aquired for less than £20
karym6 posted some good links in this thread about linux dual wan routers/pcs
no probs mate
if you get it up and running please post or pm your results cause i really wanna do this but it looks to complicated
please post your results cause i am defo interested in this and will pick your brains lol
i know what you mean the upload is shit but put the latest c*nfig on and once you have 3 on you should have 3mb up
The old pc/linux solution is IMO a bit long winded and just think of the extra electricity it uses (not to mention it's as ugly as sin).
Personally I'd look for one of those Single WAN routers that can be hacked with Linux and you can force one of the LAN ports to act as a second WAN. Cheap, tidy Dual WAN that doesn't cost the earth to run.
