Hi

Just been given a Wii which would not play anything at all, opened it up and found a Wiifree (pic12F629) fitted.

Removed it and it now plays originals.

Is it possible to fit an Argon to this ? I know a Wiikey is compatible and easier but i do not have any.

the chipset is GC2-DMS
Thanks.

Roman???

If so, check dvdrg.

If not, no it wont.

yes m8, an argon will fit and mod this machine.

and will play just like a D2C board once done.

No it wont, Argon/Infectus are coding to clone the Wasabi's D2B support.

The dont work on D2C

I am open to contradiction though

It is a DMS chip and have found out it will not work, it is work in progress though.

so.........will an argon work in a GC2-DMS ???

stop confusing me. :)

info from modchip website:

ARGON:
1- Supports all chipset versions: DMS, D2A, D2B and D2C (including D1A)
2- ONLY 9+1(clock) WIRES on D2C
3- ONLY 5+1(clock) WIRES on DMS, D2A, D2B
4- On-board flash (256KB) (wasabi only 128KB)*

i have fitted an argon to a failed wiikey install with badly dremmelled chip, and all works perfect.

Infectus homepage

1- Work on all D2C WII boards, incl. G2C D1A!
2- 13 wires connection (3 optional wires for IMPORTS GAMES supported from firmware 1.3)
3- 100% UPDATABLE! Trought the on board JTAG connector*
4- ACTEL3 FAMILY FPGA - A3P125 - Military quality and security
5- Direct Boot from Wii games
(extreme compatibility, more than Wiikey/D2Ckey)
6- Dirct boot for every GC game - Full supported from firmware 1.6
7- Multiple disc support
8- Silver games support - Supported from firmware 1.5
9- Audio streaming for GC Games supported
10- Partial regional Patch (work on 80% of games) - SUPPORTED FROM FIRMWARE 1.3
11- SPI 2Mbit flash on board for support of CODE INJECTION METHOD, firmware available soon.

If you have pulled it off, well donr, I just base my ideas on the above - and with YAOSM costing me 48p - I wouldnt dream of using Argons for pre D2C.

Sorry did not think the Argon was working with it yet, but Just to expensive to stick a Argon unless was asked to by the customer
Go for the cheap option I would say

very very interesting mate!

did you flash the argon to a new firmware to add the support for the DMS, D2A, D2B?

also on the cut legged wii, did you use alternate points?

did it use same points as the wasabi?

'Wasabus' The infectus version of Wasabi does not work with D2B chipsets. 'Yet'

all my reading as said the argon is best and now i know it is compatible with the G2C-DMS, i think that is what i will get.

unless anybody has any good reason for me to chnage my mind??..

i think i will also get that wii clip to make life easier.

as said before mate, you dont need to spend £30+ on a argon

go for a yaosm, wiikey, or winja deluxe

Ogs will do you a Yaosm for dirt cheap which will do the job, nice 5 wire install aswell
