Can someone explain newsgroups to me

One other item you might want to think about is sharing your newsprovider. It breaks your agreement with your newsprovider (like you case at this point) but you can share your account and bill with a friend.

You have to be careful about which provider you use.

Giganews will only let you connect one IP address at a time (with a 15 minute out before you can change it) but companies like newshosting let you connect from multiple IP addresses simultaneously, so you could set up your reader to say 4 streams and your friend has 4 streams. Each stream should still be good for a couple of mbps. If you need something in a hurry and you know your friend is not downloading (check with a phone call say) then bump your reader upto the full number of connections.

That way you only pay half the newsprovider each.

Unless your going to download silly amounts ,
I think its better to buy a block ,
ie I'm with Astraweb and I buy 90Gig for about £12 or £13,
and that lasts for as long as it takes me to use it,
and I've never had any problems with their retention
unlike some other providers I've used

The package im looking at with Ngroups is $14.99 a month, so that's £7 and its unlimited and its 100 retention which is more than enough. I'm all decided on what im using now, im gonna set it all up at the weekend as im on nights for the next 2 days so no one will be online to help me lol

Depends on how much the baby is crying. You might catch me around 3am somedays.
