can i tell what drive i have without opening my 360?

just got myself a nice new 360 elite and i want the drive flashed.
but i dont want to open up my machine to find out it's one of those lite on drives and screw up my warranty.

plus is there anywhere that'll do the job for me, or anyone on here (for a fee ofcourse) drive type permitting

I can mod it for you, but to check for drive types

Whats the mfr date? If its April / May/ June 2008 it may be the Lite-On drive.

If not, it cant / wont be

Are the tray types, just eject yours and see

It'll be a Hitachi v79 or a Phillips Benq (or Philips / Lite-On if its mfr'd after March 08)

how do i tell the manufacture date?
it's lot number 0745

EDIT: the mfr date is 2007-11-08

sound slike you have a philips-benq drive.

really wasy to do, just use iprep and a usb stick, and your via sata port if you have one.

i am Manchester based if you want it flashing, if you don't fancy doing it yourself.
