The Spaniards also won 2-1 when these clubs last met at the Nou Camp Stadium on 23 February 2005.
It proved insufficient for Barcelona to reach the quarter-finals as Chelsea eliminated Barca from the Champions League on a 5-4 aggregate. Barcelona had knocked the Londoners out on their two previous meetings (1965/1966 Fairs Cup and 1999/2000 Champions League).
Overall, Barcelona have won five and Chelsea three of their head-to-head European meetings.
Barcelona have scored freely against Chelsea at home, winning all four meetings in the Nou Camp stadium, outscoring Chelsea 14-2.
Other English clubs have rarely been successful at Barcelona, who have played 24 European home matches against English clubs and have lost only once (won 18, drawn five, lost one).
That sole defeat came in the semi-final of the 1975/76 Uefa Cup, when Liverpool beat Barca 0-1.
Since then, the Spaniards have been unbeaten in their last 15 home matches against English clubs.
Overall, Barcelona have played 50 European matches against clubs from England and have won 24, drawn 13 and lost 13.
Chelsea have played eight European away matches in Spain and have won once and lost seven.
Chelsea's only victory in Spain came on 5 March 1998 when they beat Real Betis 1-2 in the Cup Winners' Cup quarter-final.
Barcelona have been eliminated from European football by English clubs on six occasions, the last being Chelsea last season.
Chelsea have fallen to Spanish clubs on four occasions, the last being Barcelona in 1999/2000.

This is Barca's 10th season in the Champions League.
Chelsea's biggest successes in European competition are their two Cup Winners' Cup victories. They won the trophy in 1971 and 1998. They also won the European Super Cup in 1998.

i think chelsea will squeeze through........ i dont really like going against an english team, but would prefer it if barcelona won
(sorry RABP).

Chelsea do have the ability in going through, but if they start diving about all over the place then no chance.

Even tho i am an arsenal supporter it would be nice if an english team goes through. Chelsea would do us a favour if they knock out Barca, coz as we all know they are the favs to win the competition.

no chance for chelski i will enjoy watching mourinho's arrogant face drop when barca start to walk all over them

dont think they can do it to be honest, agree with krazylegz, it will be nice to see Mourinho 'gracious' in defeat.....

Can chelsea do it?

1-1 not a bad result in the end but there out didnt think they would do good but away from home to them its a good result shame about the first leg

chelsea outclassed in the end by a good performance from barcelona.
reckon they could go all the way, ac milan looked good as well, arsenal ! well you never know, look what happened last year.

good to see chelski got knocked out. it should have been 1-0 as it was never a penalty, but ronaldinho is just something else....pure classs:)
