Can anyone give me a bit of help?

I've flashed a few eurovoxes for mates and all has been fine.
Anyway someone has just dropped one off and he said it has had a new motherboard in it and the guy who did it told him it needed to be jtagged.

Is that right??

Its a ex1000-sl. I've just connected up to the power and the red light is on. When I press the power button on the remote to turn it on, the red light goes off for 2-3 seconds and then just comes back on. It doesn't seem to be powering up.

Is that normal and does this mean it needs to be jtagged? If it does then he can forget it cos I don't have anything to do a jtag with and never done it before either.

Just need a bit of clarification as this is what is needed.

Hi, not sure if it is worth worrying about. Most areas are N3 now so the ex1000sl won't work, full stop.

ive heard theres a fix at the end of Nov

dont think there will be a fix for these boxes as the only way to get it running again would be C/S
and there are only a few boxes that can do this on the cable network
dreambox own server needs to be found. starview, stay claer on these.
and the kryptview the one i would recommend
