Cable box updating problem

my cable box has frozen 4 sum reason?? all da channels have disappeard. and i get a message saying "YOUR TVOD IS UPDATING"?? its been like this for 2 days now updating and still no channels have come bak. can some 1 help me out plz.

i'm in leeds & box is PACE 1000

have you opened the box
if so the simm at the front of the box like ram out of a pc
check if this has 4 chips on it or 2
and check for wires atached to the atmel chips just in front of that on the mainboard

if no sucess, try changing the CIM unit, or check the connection.
